The word Chemistry comes from the Egyptian word KHEMEIA, which comes from KHAM, name of ancient Egypt.
The art of KHEMEIA grew in the ancient Egypt and Greece, and was mixed up with mystery, superstitions, occultism and even religion. The Arabian people kept KHEMEIA alive until 1100 ac, when became ALKIMIYA, which later turned out to be ALQUIMIA in Portuguese. The word Chemistry was definitely taken off from alquimia in the XVII century, but even today is still associated to it.
KHEMEIA came to meet its past, looking for its true essence, being reborn in a strong and expressive company in today's world. |
